Frequently asked questions
What do the coloured dots on squash balls mean?
The dot indicates bounce and speed: double-yellow is slow and used for competition, while blue or red dots bounce more and suit beginners and warm-ups.
How heavy should a squash racket be?
Lighter rackets (around 110-130g) offer faster swings and control and suit most players; slightly heavier frames add power but are less manoeuvrable.
Do I need eye protection?
Protective eyewear is strongly recommended and required in many clubs and competitions, as the small, fast ball can cause eye injuries.
