How it compares in Fireplaces
Across the 30 rated fireplaces products we track, the typical score is 4.5 out of 5. This one sits at 3.8, which is in the bottom quarter of the category. That does not make it a bad buy, but there are better-rated alternatives on the same shelf, so it needs another reason to earn your money.
It carries 51 ratings against a category median of 435. That is a thin base by the standards of this category, so treat the score as provisional: a handful of extra reviews can still move it either way.
On price it sits in the upper third of a category running from £6.36 to £240, where the midpoint is about £13.78. Paying above the category norm needs a reason beyond the rating, because the score alone does not justify the gap here.

Key features, as the manufacturer lists them
Taken from the product listing via Amazon's product API. These are the seller's claims, not our test results.
- 【High temperature resistant】: The fireproof mat is a double-sided design made of new fire-resistant materials, which is more durable than other ordinary mats. bbq floor mat will not ignite, char or burn through from sparks, embers, hot ash or greasy drips, and has excellent fireproof and protective features. In this way, bbq floor mat can protect your decking, patios, hearths and lawns well and avoid being scorched or burned by ashes or fireplace sparks. Fireproof by design: built to stop embers and resist flame, not to insulate.
- 【Warm Tip — Use Only Under Raised or Legged Appliances】Important: this mat catches sparks but does NOT insulate — heat from a hot, flat base will transfer through. Use it ONLY under grills, fire pits, braziers, log burners and barbecues that have legs, a stand or a raised base; the air gap underneath is what protects the surface below. Never place hot cookware, charcoal or a hot appliance base in direct flat contact with the mat. Keep appliances at least 24 inches (60 cm) from combustibles.
- 【Wipe-Clean in Seconds — Waterproof & Oil-Proof】: Both sides of the heat-resistant mat are covered with a non-slip, fireproof, and waterproof silicone coating. To clean, simply prepare soap and rinse with a hose. The heat proof mat can also be cleaned directly with a vacuum cleaner, broom, damp cloth, or shaking. This fireproof fireplace mat supports water and detergent cleaning and is reusable.
- 【3 mm, Foldable & Built for the Outdoors】At just 3 mm, the tough fibreglass core folds flat into a car boot, caravan locker or rucksack, then pops out for camping trips and back-garden barbecues. Sparks, embers and weather won't make it curl, tear or go brittle — a dependable grass protector and deck protector wherever you cook outside.
- 【Stays Put Fits Most Fire Pits, Grills & BBQs】A grippy silicone underside holds the mat firm on decking, stone, grass or patio so your barbecue, fire pit or log burner won't shift mid-cook. Use it as an under-grill mat, hearth mat or BBQ mat — the 91 × 91 cm (36") round fits most UK appliances, with 102 cm and 122 × 76 cm variants for larger setups.
