Dirtbusters Stove Polish For Log Burners & Grates sits in our fireplaces listings, where we rank by how buyers actually rate a product rather than by brand. The manufacturer says: Stove Polish restores a soft sheen black finish to stoves, grates and fire surrounds. Lasting Protection: Forms a long-lasting protective black coating once heated and can be used as grate polish. Those are the seller's own claims rather than our testing, so treat them as a starting point. On Amazon it holds 4.6 out of 5 from 3,913 ratings. How it compares in Fireplaces
Across the 30 rated fireplaces products we track, the typical score is 4.5 out of 5. This one sits at 4.6, which is around the middle of the category. Ratings alone will not separate it from its rivals here, so price and the specifics below matter more than the star count. That places it 4th of the 30 we rank here.
It carries 3,913 ratings against a category median of 435. A rating from a large base is harder to distort and tends to hold up over time, so a high score here means more than the same score on a new listing.
On price it sits in the lower third of a category running from £6.36 to £240, where the midpoint is about £13.78. Cheaper than most while rating at or above the category norm is the combination worth looking for, and it is the main argument for this one.
