Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet (newest gen), 8" sits in our tablets listings, where we rank by how buyers actually rate a product rather than by brand. The manufacturer says: Fire HD 8 offers an 8" HD display for seamless on-the-go streaming and gaming, coupled with a 5MP rear facing camera for photos – with a thin, light, durable design. With up to 4 GB RAM (2X more than 2022 release), 64 GB of storage and up to 1 TB of expandable storage (sold separately). Hexa-core processor for fast, responsive performance. Those are the seller's own claims rather than our testing, so treat them as a starting point. On Amazon it holds 4.5 out of 5 from 4,164 ratings. How it compares in Tablets
Across the 45 rated tablets products we track, the typical score is 4.5 out of 5. This one sits at 4.5, which is around the middle of the category. Ratings alone will not separate it from its rivals here, so price and the specifics below matter more than the star count.
It carries 4,164 ratings against a category median of 235. A rating from a large base is harder to distort and tends to hold up over time, so a high score here means more than the same score on a new listing.
